Fetch Quest Kickstarter is Live!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 23, 2018 at 07:36:09 PM

Hello Good Dogs!

Eddy:

I've been mentioning it for months, and now the Kickstarter is here! It's time to fetch what Man has left behind -- Fetch Quest!

Fetch Quest is a family-friendly cooperative deck-building game. Each player represents a pioneer on a dangerous quest. The pioneers work together to overcome dangerous challenges and resolve missions. Once the missions are resolved, the quest is finished and the players win the game. We're running this Kickstarter to get additional new art for the cards and get the project printed in a form we can put into stores.

Go check out the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/fetch-quest-a-deck-building-game-in-the-realms-of

And if you want to learn more about the game, I go through all the rules here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDKnKAtmTxI

We're already close to funding, but we can use all the help we can get. Even after we fund, we want to dig into building our "booster pack" of cards, including adding cat pioneers from the Monarchies of Mau and a new quest deck to discover the secret of Vinsen's tomb.

Thanks!

May Pugmire Update!
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 04, 2018 at 04:36:18 PM

Eddy:

Who's a good dog? You are! Yes you are. A few quick Pugmire updates for you this month:

PAN'S GUIDE FOR NEW PIONEERS The PDF is in your hands! If you didn't see it, check your BackerKit. We're putting together our YouTube videos -- that wasn't something from the Kickstarter, but a cool extra thing we decided to make -- and the book is going to our print-on-demand printer very soon!

TALES OF GOOD DOGS ANTHOLOGY I have two final drafts in my inbox right now, and more on the way. We're getting close to the end!

MONARCHIES OF MAU We're deep in art direction and layout. I've seen a slice of it, and it's looking great. It definitely emulates Pugmire, but it adds some new visual twists and tweaks to make it unique for our cat aesthetic. This also means I've started working on the Mau stretch goals, one of which is a set of ready-made cat AND DOG characters. So Pugmire gets a little more love even from the cats. Just don't point it out -- the cats are trying to play it cool.

You can still "pre-order" via BackerKit if you haven't had a chance: https://monarchies-of-mau.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

YOUR FETCH QUEST STARTS ON MAY 22ND!

I've been talking about it for months now, but the Kickstarter for Fetch Quest is finally coming on May 22nd!

In case you haven't heard, Fetch Quest is a family-friendly cooperative deck-building game. Each player represents a pioneer, one of six adventurous dogs on a dangerous quest. The pioneers work together to overcome dangerous challenges and resolve missions. Once the missions are resolved, the quest is finished and the players win the game.

I really want to make a card game that allows people to experience the realms of Pugmire in a new way. Fetch Quest is portable, easy to learn, and encourages cooperation and teamwork. Not only does it seem to be a fun game in its own right, but I hope it'll be a great product to play when you don't have time for a session of the Pugmire RPG, or to get new players excited about Pugmire as a whole.

And we haven't forgotten about our cat friends. I may be getting ahead of things, but one of the stretch goals I have planned is to allow you to play cats instead of (or with) dog characters. Dogs and cats playing together? Mark your calendars!

Pan's Guide Backer PDF links sent!
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Apr 13, 2018 at 02:42:54 PM

Hello Pugmire Backers!

RichT here:

I've just sent out the links for the Backer PDF of Pan's Guide for New Pioneers, which was a Stretch Goal reward for anyone who pledged for a Reward Tier containing a PDF of the Pugmire Core Rulebook.

If you don't receive the email blast, you can find the link in the Digital Downloads section of your Pugmire BackerKit page. Also, please be sure you were supposed to receive the link at all - did you pledge to a Reward Tier that contained the Pugmire rulebook PDF? Those are the folks who get the Pan's Guide Backer PDF.

What's a Backer PDF Anyway?

If you've forgotten this from our previous Backer PDF for Pugmire itself, and it was a while ago, a Backer PDF is not the final PDF reward that goes with your pledges (if you in fact pledged for a Reward Tier that includes the PDF).

It is basically a 0.9 version that has gone through editing and development and all our steps that we are sending out now as we've found that our backers have the best eagle-eyes in catching things that slipped through. Because no matter how many eyes we get on it, having 6,000ish eyes looking means we can really tighten the book up for the final PDF.

This Pan's Guide for New Pioneers Backer PDF will also contain a few spots where we are going to add links for extra content as noted in the Backer PDF.

As we send out the link to the Backer PDF, here's also a link to an errata thread on our forums for those of you who want to send us notes.

http://forum.theonyxpath.com/forum/main-category/cavaliers-of-mars-and-pugmire/1206596-pan-s-guide-for-new-pioneers-errata

You are certainly not obligated to do that, and in fact, you do not have to download the Backer PDF if you want to wait for the final PDF and download the absolutely completed book PDF without mucking around in our process.

We'll make any tweaks and changes Eddy agrees with, add any missing bits, and then create the final PDF which will update in your DriveThruRPG.com Library of your downloaded PDFs. Then we'll use those files to set up the files for the PoD version and set both on sale on DTRPG for the general public.

Thanks - without your support this Stretch Goal project would never have been made!

And here's a reminder:

Two weeks ago we started our latest Kickstarter campaign, for the Dragon-Blooded: What Fire Has Wrought source book, or "fatsplat" book, for the Exalted 3rd Edition game line.

Dragon-Blooded: What Fire Has Wrought introduces the Dragon-Blooded in 3rd Edition and all the rules necessary to feature them as player characters or NPC antagonists, including character creation rules and the element-based Dragon-Blooded Charm set of powers. This book will give an iconic view of the Dragon-Blooded, from their mythic origins as the armies of the gods to their place in the current era.

Because we made sure that the complete text for this book was finished before we ran Dragon-Blooded's KS, we can provide one quarter (more or less) of the book's text to backers each week of the campaign and get their feedback along the way. (Plus, if a backer doesn't like the text, they can cancel their pledge before the KS is over). This is the first big book for our new dev team, and judging by what we're hearing, it seems they've knocked the (fire)ball out of the park with this one!

So if that sounds interesting, please check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/dragon-blooded-what-fire-has-wrought-for-exalted-3

April Pugmire Update
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 02, 2018 at 11:00:11 PM

Eddy:

Welcome, good dogs of Pugmire! Some minor status updates for your this month:

* Pan's Guide for New Pioneers: Layout is being checked, and a little more art is getting in.

* Tales of Good Dogs anthology: The editor has been having a heck of a time with illness and work (maybe he's being tormented by the Unseen?!), but more writers are getting their feedback.

* Meanwhile, Monarchies of Mau is back from editing and is over to layout! So the various Mau stretch goals are getting started.

* Canis Minor is off and running! We've got several products already hosted up there, with hopefully more on the way. Come check it out! https://www.drivethrurpg.com/cc/17/Canis-Minor

* We're deep in layout and art tweaks to the Fetch Quest deck, getting ready for the next Kickstarter. Watch this space!

Meanwhile in a very different game world:

March Pugmire Update (just a hair early)!
about 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 28, 2018 at 08:40:36 PM

Eddy:

Hello, good dogs! A couple quick updates for you this month!

CANIS MINOR (COMMUNITY CONTENT)

Canis Minor has launched! If you want to hurry over there, check it out at this link!

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/cc/17/Canis-Minor

Even though the project has just launched, we already have SEVEN titles available for purchase. They're all reasonably priced, and a couple are "pay what you want," if you just want to check a few things out. I've also heard a few people are getting their adventures polished and ready for release, so hopefully we'll see even more in the coming months.

PROJECT STATUS

The last few stretch goal projects are nearing the finish line!

* Pan's Guide for New Pioneers: The last of the art and maps are trickling in, and layout is being reviewed. We're very close to release!

* Tales of Good Dogs anthology: Writers are getting their feedback, and so far the stories are looking great.

* Friends and Enemies (Earplay Vol. 1): We're in the process of working with Earplay on advertising banners and the like, and I helped crush a few lingering bugs. Things look to be in the home stretch!

Meanwhile in a totally different setting far, far away:

Only 24 hours left for the Trinity Continuum Kickstarter!

Our latest Kickstarter campaign for the reboot of the Trinity Continuum featuring the Core Rulebook (and modern era setting) and the Trinity Continuum: Aeon setting book is down to its last 24 hours (less actually as I write this)!

We're at well over 300% funded, and have blown through 23 Stretch Goals that add all sorts of extra material for everyone's enjoyment (although not to the books as their texts are pretty much finished, and we want to roll on them quickly).

C'mon and check it out: we've released the full text for the Trinity Continuum Core book and have released all but the final chapter of Trinity Continuum: Aeon, and that final chapter get released tomorrow!) for backers to read through!
