PUGMIRE SHOW ON TWITCH!

Our friends at the Saving Throw Show are running a three-episode mini-series playing Pugmire called "Homeward Bound"!

It features Havana Mahoney as the Guide, Kelly Nugent as Pumpkin, Amy Vorpah as Twilly, Omar Najam as Safia, and Meghan Caves as Reynolds.

This is our first direct partnership with a group providing high-quality tabletop content featuring Onyx Path and Pugsteady games, and we're very excited about it! Coming to watch the live streams helps let the Saving Throw Show folks know that this is something you want. And who knows -- maybe we can work out more shows down the line.

The second episode is LIVE today (Tuesday) at 6pm PST/9pm EST, running on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/savingthrowshow

And if you want to catch up on the first episode, it's now available on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjOaW8ix5nQ

Come check it out!

September Pugmire Update!

Realms of Pugmire Update (September 27, 2018) by Eddy Webb

Who's a good dog? Who's an excellent cat? You are! And as a treat, here are some updates from the Realms of Pugmire!

PIRATES OF PUGMIRE

I spent the past month working on the outline for Pirates of Pugmire. If you missed it last time, Pirates of Pugmire is the next supplement for BOTH Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau! Pirates of Pugmire will feature a mini-chronicle of swashbuckling adventure. The book will also cover creating both dog and cat pirates, as well as other characters unaffiliated with either nation (such as lizards and birds). There will also be some rules and advice on exploration of the various lands over the Acid Sea.

Rich has been shooting me concept sketches, and we've had some great discussions of what could be in the book. I'll probably want to rewrite it one more time, just to be sure, and then it's off to find writers!

MONARCHIES OF MAU IS GETTING READY TO SHIP

We're locking down BackerKit in preparation for shipping Monarchies of Mau. The lock down will start on OCTOBER 4TH, 2018. If you're a backer and you haven't checked out Mau Update #35, please stalk your way over there to read some very important information!

I'm excited about this. We estimated delivery in May 2019, and it looks like we're going to beat that by a wide margin. Books will be coming your way sooner than expected!

PUGMIRE: HOMEWARD BOUND

Do you like watching people play games? Saving Throw will be hosting a three-part mini-series of Pugmire called "Homeward Bound!" It premeries on Tuesday, October 9th at 6pm PST. The episodes will also be made available as reruns on Twitch, and hosted on YouTube soon after. But if you want to watch it live, come check out Saving Throw's Twitch page! https://www.twitch.tv/savingthrowshow

Vana, the Guide for the show, is a HUGE fan of Pugmire -- in our first conversation, she told me how she tried to get a Pugmire screen at the last TWO Gen Cons! And one of our earliest fans, Amy Vorpahl, will be playing in the game as well. This is going to be a fantastic adventure for good dogs, and showing Saving Throw that viewers are interested in Pugmire content is a great way to encourage them to make more!

"LISTENING IN" EXCERPT

The word that made Dusktip’s ears prick up was “Trailblazer.”

That pivotal phrase had come from a pair of Korats brushing past her on Mau City’s busy streets—one of them tall and stocky, the other small and lean like Dusktip herself, but both grizzled and hardened and bearing the scars that proved their worth to their House.

The taller cat had been the one speaking, and she continued to do so as Dusktip pivoted on her heel and loped quickly after them, sliding into the pair’s shadow and slowing down to keep pace. As usual, she wore her hood far enough forward to shade her face and obscure her features, but far enough back so as not to be seen as skulking. That was the key, to walk that fine line between subtle and suspicious, crafty and conspicuous.

It was a walk Dusktip had learned to excel at.

“…don’t know why he does not stay at his safehouse, as is custom,” the tall one was saying, gesturing sharply back toward the city’s largest residential district. “Why insist upon taking shelter with us instead?”

“Maybe he doesn’t want his castellan to know he’s back,” the shorter one offered, his rushed words a sharp contrast to his slow, lazy gaze that had already raked across Dusktip once without even a second’s pause. “Maybe he’s in trouble, and that’s why he needs protection?”

The taller one considered this. “Could be,” she agreed finally. “I mean, clearly he’d be safest with us.” She chuckled, as did her companion, and their talk shifted to boasts of strength and putdowns of other Korat soldiers. Dusktip decreased her speed still further, and the pair slowly pulled ahead, their combined shadow sliding off her like warm blankets being tugged from a sleepy kit by irritable parents. Only once the crowd had all but swallowed the two soldiers did Dusktip turn and move away, instinctively twisting to slip between cats without being noticed.

She had a lot to think about…

August (just a tad late) Pugmire Update!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Sep 05, 2018 at 09:10:54 AM

Greeting, good dogs and excellent cats!

Time for a Realms of Pugmire update, isn't it?

GEN CON

Gen Con was a lot of fun, as always. I demoed a lot of Pugmire and Fetch Quest, and the Wrecking Crew did their usual amazing job of running both Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau. Lots of people were eager to get their claws into Mau, too. And the wonderful Kevin Siembieda (designer of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG) even asked for my autograph! Talk about an exciting time!

I also had a lot of meetings about potential new products. Nothing we can announce yet, but there was one thing we DID announce....

PIRATES OF PUGMIRE

Grab your scurvy seadogs and your cat cutlasses, it's time to sail the Acid Sea! That's right, I've started work on an outline for the next supplement for BOTH Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau!

Right now, I'm deep in sorting out what'll actually end up in the book, and talking over art styles with Rich, so everything's pretty murky at the moment. More details as I firm things up!

SPEAKING OF THE APOCALYPSE

If you're into games that are a little more obviously post-apocalyptic than the Realms of Pugmire, check out our latest Kickstarter! Dystopia Rising: Evolution is another game I'm working on which is a lot more Mad Max and Walking Dead.

Here's a teaser:

No one knows how long it's been since the world was blasted with nuclear radiation and became infected with the undead. Major cities were all but destroyed; transit is reduced to animals, wagons, and the occasional iron horse. The survivors of the Fall were the first strain of deviation from the human condition and were able to make it through the rapidly spreading epidemic. Humanity has just started to rebuild, but large sections of the world are still irradiated or completely overrun by the undead. Small communities come together in a world where the concepts such as "democracy," "freedom," and "government" are newly reborn. Finding a community of decent size in this world is rare; finding one that has any concept of equality or morality is rarer still. Oh, and people have the unnerving ability to come back from the dead, regrown from the very virus that destroyed the world. This is dystopia. The world is broken. It is up to you to pick up the pieces and make a new world from the remains of the old.

If you're interested, go to the Kickstarter and learn more! We're already funded, so this is definitely going to happen, but we have some great stretch goals in mind!

July Pugmire Update!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 25, 2018 at 07:12:42 PM

Realms of Pugmire Update (July 2018) from Eddy Webb

My, how time flies. It feels like just yesterday that we were doing the Fetch Quest Kickstarter. Now, at the time I'm writing this, it's less than a week until Gen Con, so I'm whipping up a quick Realms of Pugmire update for you all!

As a reminder, now that we have three Kickstarters related to the Realms of Pugmire, I'll be doing my usual monthly updates for all three at once. If we have updates related to a specific Kickstarter campaign, you'll still see those separately.

GEN CON

For the past several years we've always had fun Realms of Pugmire stuff, and this year is no exception! There will be demos of Pugmire, Monarchies of Mau, and Fetch Quest, both at the booth [BOOTH 501] and by our talented demo team The Wrecking Crew. We'll also have a variety of Pugmire products for sale. And I'll be there to answer any questions you have about the games and talk about Mau and Fetch Quest as we're finishing them up. And if you can hit one of our What's Up with Onyx Path? panels, I may tell you about the NEXT Pugmire product....

FETCH QUEST

Now that things have calmed down a bit, I had a meeting with Mike Chaney, the art director, and we went over the last bits of art we need to switch out. We're also collecting information from the people who pledged to have custom pioneer cards made of their pets. It'll be a bit while that final art comes in, but once it does we'll send all the cards to an editor for last-minute corrections, and we'll be on our way.

MONARCHIES OF MAU

I just sent off the last proofing comments for the final Mau layout, now that all the art's in and we have an index. And it's looking amazing! There weren't many errata corrections, but I appreciate everyone who took the time to send those in. If you were a Mau backer at the appropriate level, you should be seeing a separate update soon with your final PDF. Then it's off to the printers!

Meanwhile, At Our Latest Kickstarter:

THERE'S LESS THAN ONE WEEK LEFT for the Geist: The Sin-Eaters 2nd Edition Kickstarter and we’ve funded the project and achieved ten Stretch Goals so far! Thanks to all of our backers out there spreading the word! We are in good shape to be able to make a great looking hardcover edition, and get that into stores, even while we’re giving backers first look at the complete text and other fun benefits: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/geist-the-sin-eaters-2nd-edition

Geist: The Sin-Eaters 2nd Edition includes all the rules you need to play as one of the Bound: Five Burdens reflecting the cause that pulled you back from the grave, five krewe Archetypes for building your own mystery religion, and the Haunts, Keys, and Ceremonies that provide the Bound with their macabre powers.

It also includes the Chronicle of the Dead, featuring the Sin-Eaters’ struggle against the all-consuming Underworld and a variety of terrifying threats. In addition, for the first time in the Chronicles of Darkness lines, ghosts are presented as playable characters.

Like I said, the game is already funded, and now we're working at unlocking Stretch Goals - including additional rules and setting material in a Companion book, Memento Mori. If you haven't already, come by and check us out and hopefully join in on the fun!

Realms of Pugmire Update (June 2018)

Hello all you good dogs and excellent cats! Now that we have three Kickstarters related to the Realms of Pugmire, I'll be doing my usual monthly updates for all three at once. If we have updates related to a specific Kickstarter campaign, you'll still see those separately. Our Kickstarter for Fetch Quest, the Pugmire deck-building game, was quite a success! We hit 350% of our goals, unlocking cat pioneer cards and the ability for people to make their own Fetch Quest cards through Canis Minor. Thanks to everyone who backed, and if you didn't, we'll have pre-orders up via BackerKit soon!

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE REALMS OF PUGMIRE?

Now that Fetch Quest is done, and we're getting good momentum on the Mau stretch goal projects, Onyx Path and Pugsteady have launched into the next phase of negotiations -- or, in other words, Rich and I got onto Skype and kicked around ideas for a while. I have an outline to write and some research to do, but no details yet. But as soon as we're ready to announce something, we'll make sure all our Realms of Pugmire fans are told!

Meanwhile, At Our Current Kickstarter:

On Monday, July 2nd, 12 noon Eastern US time, we start the Kickstarter for Geist: The Sin-Eaters 2nd Edition for Chronicles of Darkness! If the very brief bit of info below sounds interesting, we'll have a lot more when the KS goes live - love to see you there!

In Geist: The Sin-Eaters, you play a person who died with a powerful burden on their soul — something they didn't accomplish in life, or something they never found. On the other side of the veil, they made a bargain with a powerful being called a geist, which returned them to the world of the living and to their own body, at the cost of a permanent bond between them and the geist. Now your character stands as a medium, with one foot in the world of the living and one in the world of the dead.
